Service Description

Procreate is one of the most easily-to-learn and accessible ways to make digital art these days. This one-time digital art workshop will be all you need to learn your way around the program, through creating our own one-of-a-kind music posters. We’ll be talking through poster design throughout history and discussing how they relate to the basics of composition. From making small thumbnails of our ideas, to brainstorming, to inking, to color theory - this class is aimed to leave you inspired on so many levels. This class requires you to bring your own supplies. Please come with a tablet, pencil and Procreate downloaded in advance if you plan to participate in the class. Breakdown of Events: Pt. 1 - Introduce Drawing in Procreate (30 mins) / Materials needed Pt. 2 - Music Posters throughout History (Slideshow) / Fundamentals of Composition (10 mins) Pt. 3 - Interpreting Music Visually (10 mins) Pt. 4 - Thumbnails. / Establish your “medium” (Collaging, painting, or inking) (20 mins) Pt. 5 - Rendering Artwork in Procreate (30 mins) Pt. 6 - Basic Color Theory (10 mins) Pt. 7 - Open up for Questions (10 mins) Objectives: Learn the basic tools to start making art in Procreate Understand the fluency of how Procreate easily relates to traditional drawing materials by exploring different brushes and textures in Procreate Learn how to create and save various color palettes Basics of composition and color theory Be given the tools to develop a personal style, and see it translate across multiple mediums Develop the ability to communicate ideas clearly to others in a visual format
